Many of you remember my participation in a St. Baldrick's event five years ago. Well, once again I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.
But this year it's personal. A number of us at Akerman have formed a team to raise money for research to cure children's cancers and we are dedicating our efforts to one of our own: three year-old Ava Crowley, the daughter of our Akerman colleague Spencer Crowley and his wife Nickelle. Ava was diagnosed in May with an advanced stage of an aggressive childhood cancer - stage 4 neuroblastoma. She has since undergone intensive treatment including chemotherapy. Please visit the St. Baldrick's team page for Akerman Palm Beach County to learn more about our collective effort and to see a picture of beautiful, brave Ava.
Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. And to do it for Ava.
