If you have visited this page you have either received and email or saw the items on face book. My wife and my self are one of the lucky families that have not had to go through this as of yet. Knock on wood. There are a few facts that I did not realize. World wide a child is diagnosed with some form of cancer every 3 minutes. In the United States more children are lost to cancer then any other disease. In fact more are lost to cancer then any other childhood diseases COMBINED!!! In the U.S. 1 in every 300 boys and 1 in every 333 girls will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 20. I did not realize just how lucky we were until I found these statistics. Now for the numbers in 2011 the national cancer institute budget was 5.196 billion dollars and child hood cancers only received 3.7% of this budget. The St. Baldrick's foundation is only for childhood cancers all the proceeds go towards the research for childhood cancers 82% of this makes it to research the cure of these diseases, 16% goes to marketing and fundraising and the other 2% goes to management and general. Do me a favor, before you decide whether to give or not to give, scroll through the site, take a look at the kids, read their bio's, and just look at there faces. Each and everyone of these little angels will have a smile on their faces and an attitude that they are going to beat this. They need our help! I thank you. They thank you!
