For 22 years childhood cancer has all too often been at center of my thoughts. At age 16, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, an event that completely changed my course in life. While experiencing cancer treatment was surely one of the worst things that ever happened to me, it was also my life's biggest blessing. What I have learned as an adult is that childhood cancer is in reality a chronic disease that you will live with the rest of your life. Even though 5-year survival rates are approaching 80%, one in five children still die of their disease. Even more alarming is the health condition and overall quality of life in those children fortunate enough to survive. Research addressing these shortcomings is imperative, if we are to continue making progress. A donation to St. Baldrick's does just that and it is a rare organization whose mission is solely focused childhood cancer research. Please donate and help us better the lives of these unfortunate children.
Be it known to all that this participant has dedicated at least ten years of service to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation helping kids with cancer throughout all the land.
