Hello,
I am shaving my hair and raising money for St. Baldricks for the study of childhood cancer. I am doing it in honor of my grandmother Marilyn Sasso who passed away from Breast Cancer, my Aunt Donna who passed away from Leukemia, my grandfather who survived Lymphoma, my cousin Bryan who also survived Lymphoma, and my Aunt Trish who is surviving Lymphoma. My grandmother said that I was the “apple of her eye.” When I lost her from cancer I was 18 months old and I lost someone who always would have been there for me when I needed something. She babysat me as a baby when my parents were working and we had so much fun going on walks with my grandfather. I never got to meet my Aunt Donna. She was an avid sport fan who loved the Chicago Bulls and was a season ticket holder for Siena College men’s basketball games and would have come to my hockey games to cheer me on all of the time. My Aunt Trish and I have many good memories. Some of my favorites are going on vacation together and visiting her and her family in West Virginia. My Grandfather fought in the Korean War. He had skin cancer, and was diagnosed with Lymphoma the same year that his daughter Donna passed away. Finding a cure for all cancers is very important to me because then no one will ever die from cancer again.
