I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Joey's Team - Bald is Beautiful

"I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures." That's the tag line given as a template for being a St. Baldrick's participant. For several years now Linda and I have donated money in support of The Chamness family and Joey's Team. We felt the money was going to a great cause and hoped that we might be making a small difference to these young kids in their fight against a very difficult situation. Well, here we are, looking for ways to help our Granddaughter Rylee Fanning fight her greatest fight against a malignancy known as Yolk Sac Germ Cell. Rylee is two years old and the picture on my page is Rylee and me in October 2012 in Seattle just before she was diagnosed. Two surgeries and several chemo treatments later, Rylee is now facing radiation and additional treatments in an effort to bring the cancer in check. Shaving my head is so minimal to the effort, but your donations, big or small, make such a huge difference! Thank you for taking the time to read our story, donate some money and pray for all these kids that are up against a foe so formidable that the best of the best doctors scratch their heads at times.

Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government Thank you!

Thank you again, Steve and Linda.
