I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Addison

Dear Friends and Family, Thank you for visiting Matthew's page. What is Matthew doing? Matthew is going to have his head shaved at a St. Baldrick’s Foundation event. Please come out and watch the fun on Sunday, March 10, 1pm at St. Michael Catholic Church. With his bald head, he will stand in solidarity with kids being treated for cancer. But the real point of all this is to raise money for life-saving research. Matthew is doing it for infants, children, teens and young adults fighting cancer. While it’s especially hard to think of kids fighting cancer, we are also glad to know that some of the research supported by this foundation ultimately helps to fight all cancers. Please make a donation on Matthew's head and come watch us “Shaving the Way to Conquer Kids’ Cancer!” Baby Addison Miles, whose family goes to our church, has spent most of her life in the hospital after being diagnosed at her 4 month check up. She has had 3 bone marrow transplants and NOW at just over a year old she is HOME! She is a fighter and we want to give her and other kids a fighting chance. This charity is VERY important to our family and the boys love to participate. We want to support them in their 3rd year of raising money and going bald! I can assure you this gift will be used responsibly. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is the largest private funder of childhood cancer research grants. This is a volunteer-driven charity, which keeps fundraising costs low and grants high. In 2012 alone, St. Baldrick’s granted more than $23 million for research – almost all raised by more than 31,000 “shavees” like Matthew , from people like you! We were not sure if Matthew would still want to do it since he is 12 and well...you know, but although he is nervous he absolutely wants to be a part of it. We are so proud of Matthew for wanting to do this and we would love for him to reach his goal. This is a fun way to do something very important. Thank you for your support! Sincerely, Steve and Rhonda Dentinger
