I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Hannah's Bananas

Hi Friends and Family,

As some of you already know, Luke has been shaving his head for the St. Baldricks Foundation for the last four years. St. Baldricks is a childhood cancer charity funding the most promising research to help find cures for kids with cancer. He does this in honor of his little (almost as big as him now!) sister, Hannah. Hannah was only two when she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and Luke was four. I asked him to write about his experiences with her diagnosis and this is what he wrote:

"Well, it started when my sister, Hannah, got a temperature and my mom took her to the doctor’s office. The doctors were saying it was nothing but my mom knew something was wrong. She kept on going until finally they did a test and found out that Hannah had cancer. It was all so quick. An ambulance came and I was off somewhere and did not understand. I was only four and my sister was two. Everyone was scared. I had no idea everyone was scared. Time of chaos, is the only thing I can say."

By participating in St. Baldrick's, it gives Luke a chance to do something and to stand up to cancer. This is his event and takes a lot of pride in it. How it works is that he asks for donations and in return he gets his head shaved in solidarity with kids fighting cancer. Any amount would be very much appreciated. Thanks so much.

And as for Hannah, she is doing great! Her cancer continues to be in remission and she goes to the hospital twice a year for blood tests. She is in second grade and loves school. She takes dance, gymnastics, soccer, and is in Brownies. She loves her friends and being a fashionista!
We are so blessed!!

This year, Luke is joined with his good friends, Jack & Luke Fischer, and Ben Wisniewski to form the team "Hannah's Bananas". They are all raising money for childhood cancer and have the motto..."Go Bald or Go Home!" We are exciting to work with them and to be together for the big event.
