I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I've spent the last seven years building up the first St. Baldricks event in all the greater Houston area. I'm proud to say that "I" didn't do this, it's all the volunteers and those willing to shave to raise money for childrens cancer research. My father ultimately died from cancer, I had cancer in 1990/91 and my daughter a highly recruited gymnast, at age 12 had cancer, survived and flourished to become the ONLY gymnast in University of Denver history to make it to NCAA's all four years of her career. It's a feel good story, but we are here to make sure there are more of those instead of less. So after March 10, 2013 I'm turning over the rains of Chairperson to Shannon with more thank you's then I can say for pushing me and pushing our community efforts to where we are now. Over the last six years we've raised over $154,000.00 dollars. Not bad when you think our first year had four shavee's and raised $3,009.00. God bless you all for shaving, volunteering, donating but most of all for caring. Let's make this the year we take this event to the next major fundraising level.
