I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research
I had never heard of the St. Baldrick's Foundation or its mission until I stumbled into a random pub in Dingle, Ireland on a school trip. Needless to say, I was shocked when I witnessed several pub-goers having their heads shaved in front of a cheering audience. After hearing the reason behind this spectacle (and with the help of some liquid courage) I myself was motivated to participate. I left the pub that night a few inches shorter, and it felt great! Not only had I partaken in a great cause, but the money that was raised at my expense has gone to a great foundation. I would gladly sacrifice my hairdo again and I encourage others to try it out themselves.
