Again, I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.
In May of 2011 I participated in my first St. Baldrick's shave event. It was a life changing event for me. It was the first time I had given of myself and was a part of such a large fund raiser for such a worthy cause. I did this in honor of Cameron J. He was a little man of courage and strength. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor early in his life. He faced the ugly cancer with courage and strength that I never think I could muster in my life. He fought a strong hard battle.
Unfortunately, he lost the battle of his life in November of 2011. This September 29, 2012, I am participating in memory of Cameron and all the kids that battled cancer before him, as well as the kid that will battle cancer after him. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
