I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

First off I would like to take a quick moment to tell you WHY you were directed to my home page, be cause I consider you one of my friends and I only pimp my friends
Secondly, I am asking you for money. In my 49 years (ouch I'm OLD) I have never asked my friends for too much except perhaps a couch to crash on.
Lastly your money is going to a GREAT cause!!!!
On April 27th I will be participating in the 2012 St. Baldrick’s event here in Colorado Springs and I will be shaving my melon. That’s right, clean up the cocktail you may have just spit out, pick yourself off the floor and stop laughing because it’s true.

A little background.
It started as what I thought was donating my hair for kids with cancer has turned into a bigger more important cause to me
Since moving to Colorado from San Diego I have found that the longer my hair was in the winter the warmer my head would stay. So for the past 2 years (ok, I’m a slow learner) I have cut my hair in the spring and let it grow all year until the following spring and as you can see by the attached picture its slightly outta control right about now. My girlfriend (Ramsey for those of you who might not know her name) told me about St. Baldrick’s and I thought WTF, I gotta cut my hair anyway so it will just be a little shorter and can be used for wigs for kids. After doing some due diligence on the event it has taken on a far greater importance to me. After reading EVERY page of the St Baldrick’s site and doing more research I learned what it was really about. Not hair for wigs, but the bigger picture…… DONATIONS.
I will save reiterating what’s on their web site but please do click on the link below and get a better idea of what St Baldrick’s is all about.
Now to the point. How much am I asking you for? Well you’re my friends so to make this easy I am putting it into perspective………………
I am asking for a beer and a shot, what you would spend on ONE cocktail and shot you will drink on your next night out. You might be on the Miller High Life and a Jamo bandwagon-like I am, you might be working the top shelf margarita and a Patron or for some of you a Bottle of 1979 Chateau Lafite Rothschild and a Louie the Xlll. Whatever it may be is all I am asking for.

Now don’t get me wrong if you wanna dig deeper FEEL FREE but that is not what I am asking for. If I can raise $1000 in donations I would be super stoked knowing you all made a difference. I am sure it will eventually come back to you the next time I see you and I buy you a shot and a drink (except you Rothschild and Louie bunch- you get a High Life and a Jamo)

Although my family and I have been very lucky and none of our children have been touched by this horrible disease I haven’t gone unscathed by cancer.
I am the son of a cancer survivor and the friend of more cancer survivors than I would like so whatever I can do no matter how small is worth it

So I will end this note before you delete it because of rambling. Below is the link to my St Baldrick’s participants page. You can donate very simply by clicking the Make a Donation link under my ugly mug. I thank you all in advance for whatever you can donate. I appreciate it more than you know. Hopefully ad a group we can make a difference

Thanks in Advance
Skipper
