As you all may know. I am the proud father of Joe-Joe who was diagnosed with Leukemia at age 2. Joe-Joe is now 13 and has had to endure 7 years of chemotherapy. By the grace of God and the support of Dr. Gowda, all the nurses at St. Mary's, family, friends and of course St. Baldrick's. When Joe-Joe was 3, St. Baldrick's requested that Joe-Joe and Dr. Gowda meet them in the conference room at St. Mary's where a wonderful group of firemen and Frances Feeney presented Dr. Gowda with a check from St. Baldrick's to fund the research and treatment of many of the kids at St. Mary's. As a father, I am forever grateful of their support of research. They were part of the team that saved my son. Joe-Joe is quickly approaching his 5th anniversary since the end of treatment. He has one more test and "when" Dr. Gowda gives us the "all clear", Joe-Joe will be cancer free.
So...
I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
