Usually, I use any excuse I can find to delay a haircut... but in this case, I am incredibly excited to be "buzzed" on Saint Patrick's day. I first saw a flyer for St. Baldrick's event a few weeks ago, and I thought it was a great cause, and should be great fun! I've done some research on the foundation... last year they brought in just about 14 million dollars in donations, and spent about 2.5 million paying employees: It seems to me that is a good percentage that goes directly to researchers that are trying to eliminate cancer among children (and what works for the kids should work for adults too!)
Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. If you feel that you can, I would appreciate a small donation... or perhaps you will come to Kilkenny's on March 17th to drink a beer and share in some head-shaving merriment!
