I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research
Last year I rode in the Boston Bicycles Battling Cancer ride. I had never participated in any charity events before then and was amazed at how many friends and family donated to that cause. This year I can’t do that ride due to scheduling conflicts with my 3-year old daughter’s dance recital. One of my buddies (Malcolm “Max” Parker) has been doing St. Baldricks for many years. I’ve enjoyed seeing him bald around this time of year and the scores of people who come out and donate money to see his mug without hair -more importantly to donate to this great cause. I cannot imagine my daughter getting cancer and it pains me to see or hear of kids battling this disease. I have decided to partake in this cause and get my head shaved. It’s going to be hard for me to shave my head as I have been growing out my hair for quite some time and my wife and I actually like it longer. However, I can’t fathom the hardness a kid goes through struggling with this disease, along with the families’ hardships and pain. Here’s to shaving my head….
Be it known to all that this participant has dedicated at least seven years of service to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation helping kids with cancer throughout all the land.
St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids
Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
St. Baldrick’s started as a grassroots effort 25 years ago, driven by people who believe in helping kids with cancer.
