One of my very good friends, Hannah was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in September 2007. She was in treatment for 2.5 years and finished in January 2010. She is now in 1st grade (like me) and loves going to school! Her favorite subject is Art and she has a great imagination. She also loves to dance and will be in her third recital this June.
She is doing great and we are very thankful for her health. It was a grueling treatment and we would like to find a cure to end all childhood cancers for good. Also it is important to give childhood cancer survivors, like Hannah, long and healthy lives.
Her big brother Luke (age 9) (my buddy), has been a St. Baldrick participant for three years now. He likes to participate because it is something he can do to show that he supports his sister and childhood cancer research. I supported Luke and Hannah last year, and this year, I want to make a difference and be a part of it. I am going to join my buddy Luke to honor his sister, Hannah and many other children, and raise money for childhood cancer. I am having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.
Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Thank you for your support!
