I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I want to be able to help all the children that are struggling with cancer. When I see a child with cancer all I want to do is cry. I am doing St. Baldrick’s because if I have the chance to help someone with a disease that can kill them I will do anything to help. When I was in 8th grade my grandpa got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. When my mom told me I started to cry and wouldn’t stop. I was so scared because he was the first person I knew that got cancer. When he started to go through surgeries I was so scared but I knew that he was strong enough to fight through. When my grandpa had to go to the hospital in the city for his surgery I was worrying about him all day. My mom got home around 10:00 and the minute she got home I wanted to know how it went. I don’t know what I would do without him. Also last year my grandma was diagnosed with uterine cancer. When I found out that she was in the hospital I was at school when I saw my cousin and she told me that our grandma was in the hospital. As soon as she told me I called my mom as soon as I could to find out why. My mom didn’t know why my grandma was in the hospital but my dad was at the hospital for a while. When we found out that my grandma had cancer I didn’t cry as much because I already knew how it felt and since my grandpa fought through it I knew that my grandma could as well. I am always so scared that my parents are going to tell me that my grandma or grandpas cancer has come back. This is why I want to help as much as I can to help prevent others from getting cancer or helping people get rid of their cancer.
