I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Last year was the first time I shaved my head to support St. Baldrick's. My wife chose not to divorce me on the spot, for which I am very grateful. The whole event was terrific and I ended up raising $1,380 in all - an amazing display of charity and support from my friends and family.

Last year was just for fun, but this year the St. Baldrick's event at St. John's University means a lot more to me. This year, I'm participating in this event in honor of my tough little friend Miss Ems. She's the bravest little girl I know and I'm going to enjoy watching her grow up into the wonderful woman I know she'll become. I am not going to enjoy the otherworldly dice luck I know she's also going to end up with, but I'll worry about that when she's older!

Considering how successful I was in raising money last year when this was only about my vanity, I'm setting the fundraising goal higher this time around. I know we can raise at least $1,500 for St. Baldrick's. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your donation will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Thank you!
