On January 9th of 2012 my son Drew was diagnosed with a Wilms Tumor. He had surgery on January 11th, but due to the size of the tumor they were not able to remove the tumor and will be required to go back in once the chemotherapy has reduced its size. Drew has a long road ahead of him and we are all hoping for the best.
Having a doctor tell you that your child has cancer is the worst feeling in the world. You want to do something for them, but you know you can't. Even once they start treatment you don't feel any better because you know the doctors are just putting poison into your child in hopes that it will help them. Today’s medical treatments for cancer are not good enough. We need to find a cure today, not tomorrow. I don't want anyone to ever go through what I have these past few weeks, which is why I am joining St. Baldricks every year until there is a cure for this horrible disease. Please help me by donating to this great cause and hopefully one day we will be able to win this war.
Thank you!
