I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you! This is my SIXTH year participating in a St. Baldrick's Foundation event! My first couple of years were spent as an event organizer in the Chicago Heights, Illinois area. Following those successful events, I now enjoy being a shavee and assisting the organizers of other area events put on even bigger and better events than I had. This is a great cause and the events are loads of fun.
This year, my wife and I are EXTREMELY PROUD of our daughter Teagan who decided all on her own that she wanted to be a SHAVEE at this year's event in Crown Point! She has been behind the efforts of St. Baldrick's ever since I got involved as an organizer and would donate the contents of her piggy bank each year. I think it's wonderful that an 8-year old girl would want to help support this year's event as a shavee! I don't mind so much if I don't reach my donation goal, so if you'd like to donate on her behalf instead, I think it would be a great show of support for her. You can find her, much the same way you found me, by searching under participants "Teagan Bednarek".
Thanks!
