I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Hello! I am a fourth grade teacher and experiencing my first year of teaching. I just found out two weeks ago that one of my students is battling cancer. She has a Wilms' Tumor, which is in her kidneys and it is in Stage 3.

I have always been wanting to participate in St. Baldrick's, an organization that raises money to research childhood cancer, and now seems like the perfect time. My student has just started chemo and will soon beginning to lose her hair. I will be shaving my head soon in support of my student. My staf has agreed to color their hair (using colored hair spray) to raise awareness.

I appreciate any support towards childhood cancer. It is sad to see such a young child having to fight for their life!
