I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: NetApp Global Team

Hey, Hey, Hey Friends and Family I have been on the fence about participating in the “head shaving” versus just donating to the cause. I am not sure you have noticed ;-) but… I have a big old bald spot on the back of my head, so this is going to be a real funky look! A dinner party we had last Saturday helped to change my mind. The party included a lifelong friend who lost his mother to cancer a few years ago and two of my daughters 17 year old high school friends. One of the friend’s mother is at the tail end of chemo therapy for breast cancer. The other 17 year old friend is currently recovering from brain cancer surgery and is in the middle of chemo therapy. He did not have a choice with his new “clean shaven” look. This is one amazing kid. He has the most positive outlook that you can imagine. As you guys know, having been through my brain surgery 11 years ago (time flies), I have a pretty good idea of the tough road he is on. The kid is fearless. Incredible. He put me over the edge. With these people in mind, along with all the other cancer victims and survivors that I know, I will be having my head shaved for the kids.

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
