I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

It's that time of year again. Springtime… when my hair grows as fast as the grass only to disappear in under a minute. Every year, my March Madness consists of collecting pledges so that I may shave my head bald for the annual St. Baldrick’s Event to show solidarity with cancer patients. Although St Baldrick’s is a non profit organization committed to finding a cure for childhood cancer, both youth and adults benefit from successful research. I will be shaving my head bald for the seventh year and in that time I have seen several friends and family members fight this disease. I believe, that through the caring and generosity of events like this, we are making a difference. This being my seventh year, I will be inducted as an official “Knight of the Bald Table”. My first order of business is to challenge all of my teammates and those in the different organizations, whether it is Panther Hockey, Wrecker Football, Wrecker Basketball, or Cyclone Baseball, to get involved. I will wear the jersey, of the organization that pledges the most money, during the shaving of my dome. It would be great to see you all there to support the work of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Repectfully yours, Nick Rooney (Go Panthers, Wreckers, Cyclones)
