I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Olympic Heights Baseball

To start off, my name is Joshua Josephson, a 15 year old freshman at Olympic Heights High School. I play on the Varsity Baseball Team. As a team, all the players are shaving their heads in support of this event. Although I have known many people affected by Cancer, I have personally been affected in my life by two special people. I am dedicating my fundraising efforts in honor and in memory of them. The first person who had cancer was my Poppy. Born in Middletown, Rhode Island, he was a great guy who loved to watch me play any sport. After moving down to Florida , he was diagnosed with lymphoma. Poppy "Dick" was hospitalized numerous time since he didn't go to a doctor right away. I saw him in the hospital and I couldnt imagine how tiny cells did destroyed my Poppy. He sadly passed on June 15, 2005 at the age of 72. He was way too young to pass away. The second person is a lady is still fighting ovarian cancer. Leslie Viskovich is one of the toughest ladies I know. Her family as been with her all the time as well as myself on their side. Her daughter Emily and I remain best of friends and do everything we can to fight cancer. Right now, Leslie is undergoing another surgery in Texas and we all wish her the best of luck. So now that you know my story, I want you to create a moment of your own. If at all possible, I would like to shave my head on St. Baldricks Day and need to raise a minimum of $100.00. I would like to surpass this goal by a long shot. So please, if you can donate, it would not only be appreciated by me, but by those kids and adults fighting the horrible disease of cancer.
