I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Yes, the rumors are true! After growing my hair out for the past 6 years, I am joining my friends at IAS and NetApp in the fight against childhood cancer. I am shaving my head in solidarity with children who have cancer and typically lose their hair during treatment, while raising critical funds for childhood cancer research.

I am proudly raising money in honor of Ms. Elise Lambert. I have been friends with her mother, Wendy, since we were kids. Elise is 5 ½ years old and is currently undergoing treatment at St. Jude’s Research Hospital for Brainstem Glioma, which is a malignant brainstem tumor located in the medulla. Since undergoing radiation treatments, Elise has taught everyone close to her what “living in the moment” is truly about! She continues to feel good, play hard, and love life. It is everyone’s hope that her tumor continues to shrink and stabilize; and that Elise will live a long and healthy life. Elise’s story has been an inspiration to me to get involved with St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. Please make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure. I will also be donating my ponytail to Locks of Love prior to the actual shave for St. Baldrick's.

Thank you for your support!
