I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Shave ON

Shaving my head for cancer is no big sacrifice, I was happy to volunteer. Signing up for this event also meant stopping to think about how close I came to growing up without my older sister, Lianne. When she was 6 months old doctors noticed a lump on her neck. They thought it was just swollen glands until one of her eyelids started to droop. The doctor knew right away: it was neuroblastoma. She spent her first Christmas recovering from a first round of chemotherapy. She was very sick, she wouldn't take her bottle, and at one point the doctors considered sending her home with my Mom and Dad to die. Then she suddenly bounced back. She started eating again and treatment was working well. By the time she was three the doctors had declared her cancer free. She turns 36 in May. Happy Birthday Lianne.
