NetApp’s 2011 St. Baldrick’s Team – Save a Kid, Shave a Cowboy Dear Family, Friends, Partners, Customers and Co-Workers: About 5 years ago, the NetApp office in New York started what has become a worldwide phenomenon. Last year, more than a dozen NetApp offices gathering together in support of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long, healthy lives. Donors support individual “shavees” who have agreed to shave their head in support of St. Baldrick’s in order to raise contributions. Here are the statistics from 2010: • NetApp is the largest corporate donor to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, generating $450,000 in donations. • The NetApp Dallas office participates in fundraising for the first time, generating $20,305 in donations in support of nine “shavees”. • I personally participated in 2010 for my first time raising almost $3000 thanks to my supporters. My goal this year is to raise $5000, and I have been letting my hair grow since December in anticipation of this year’s head shaving. The event will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, March 31st at Sherlock’s Baker Street Pub in Addison. Family, friends, and partners of NetApp are encouraged and welcomed to attend. Food and drinks will be provided and along with some good laughs.
