I cannot tell you when I felt my obligation to support cancer research & treatment, but I can vividly remember the couple months that drew me and my business partner, Adrian Pomilio, to action.
While coaching lacrosse at a local high school, our team mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Later that year, we attended the funeral of one our player's mother that succumbed to breast cancer on Christmas. Ideas had to become action. That spring, Adrian and I founded Stick It to Cancer and created a middle school lacrosse tournament to raise money for cancer research and treatment. Three years later, we have added an elementary tournament and have raised over $17,000 for Wake County Hospice and St. Baldrick's, both amazing organizations.
I am asking for your support this Saturday when I shave my head in honor of past, present & future cancer patients. Anything you can give will be tremendously appreciated. Last year, a 4-year old gave $1.55 to support his older brother. It was all the kid had.
Thank you,
Jared Klein
