I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

To all my friends and family: On March 16, 2008 many members of the Downey fire department are shaving our heads in support of children with cancer. The purpose of shaving our heads is to show solidarity with kids who are undergoing cancer treatment and typically lose their hair during treatment. As you know, I already shave my head, so to make this meaningful, I have actually been growing out my hair since the middle of January. Trust me, its been a sacrifice (please see my picture - and don't laugh). In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. It is my goal to make a contribution to childhood cancer research so that children who are diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure. We will be holding an event at Downey Fire Station 1 on Sunday March 16th from 10 am - 2 pm. Station 1 is located at 12222 Paramount Blvd. Downey, CA 90242. If you are able to attend, please do not hesitate everyone is welcome. Thanks in advance for your support. I appreciate your help as we all work together to fight this devestating disease.
