You heard it right - I'm doing this again! Sooo..... that means that it's not so awful and maybe you would like to do it, too?
This year my mom and I will be doing this, in solidarity with my little brother and the other families of Camp Wapiyapi, and with every other person who has ever been affected by cancer in any way, shape, or form. St. Baldrick's is a wonderful organization and has truly made a difference in research and the cancer world. And.... head shaving is really a wonderful experience!
Cancer changed my family and cancer treatments saved my little brother, and so this organization is one very near and dear to us.
SO: if you feel so inclined to join us.... I can promise you that for the first week you with have a touch of an identity crisis, and after that you will begin to realize that there are wonderful things that people with hair never experience past the age of a newborn - raindrops on top of your head, literally no bad hair days, and that fuzzy-stage when you can sit in class and rub your head and be relaxed!
If shaving your head is not for you, then please feel free to donate. Like I said, this organization is truly incredible. The donations go towards cancer research, and in this day and age, those advancements are both needed and necessary.
In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. Please make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure.
To make a donation, click on "Make A Donation" or donate by mail or phone. Or, spread the word. Tell your friends, family, anyone....
Thank you so much for your support!
