I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Yes, it is St. Baldrick's time again, and for the third year in a row it will be my privilege to again be "going bald for the kids." Since last year's campaign I have reached 80 years of age, and I feel that I have been so blessed by a long and healthy life that I want to help make it possible for today's children and young people to have the same possibility of disease-free adult lives. That's why I am again supporting the St. Baldrick's campaign to raise funds for scientific research that will lead to the elimination of childhood cancer. Did you know that every 3.5 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer? You and I together are doing something about it. Since its inception in the year 2000, St. Baldrick's has raised more than $69 million for the cause. Worldwide 160,000 kids are diagnosed with cancer each year and despite tremendous progress, cancer remains the #1 disease killer of children in the U.S. and Canada. In our first two years here in Greenville our campaigns have raised over $90,000 to help kids worldwide avoid this horrific disease. Please join me again in seeing that kids everywhere have the opportunity to grow up and lead long and healthy lives. We can make it happen. YES WE CAN! Thanks, Dick
