Friends and family -
Winter seems to be easing, glimpses of Spring are evident, positive signs on the Economy are more prevalent, and with the start of March, St. Patrick’s Day party plans begin to be made. As such, plans for St. Baldrick’s Day events are also taking shape. Once again, I am participating in one such event in Atlanta. As many of you know, my involvement centers on shaving my head as a show of solidarity with and in support of children who have cancer and typically lose their hair during treatment, while raising critical funds for childhood cancer research!
The past 18 months have seen extraordinary economic events that have impacted all of us in some way. And while that meant “tightening our belts” in one manner or another, curtailing certain activities, forgoing some entertainments/recreations, etc., cancer did not slow down, or cut back. In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. In tough economic times, one should choose wisely and judiciously among the many demands for one’s generosity. I hope you would agree with me that eradicating this terrible disease is a worthy cause. Please make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure.
