I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: The Woodsmen

Dear Friends & Family, Sorry for the last minute notice (its me so what else should you expect), but I hope this finds everybody well. For those of you who are not familiar with St. Baldricks, St. Baldrick's is the world's largest volunteer-driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research. Thousands of volunteers shave their heads in solidarity of children with cancer, while requesting donations of support from friends and family. The team I am a part of (The Woodsmen) consists of Firemen and Paramedics from the Elmwood Park Fire Department, Norwood Park Fire Protection District and the Bellwood Fire Department.....hence 'The Woodsmen'. Now we know times are tough, so we're not asking for a lot, just a little. How ever much you can afford to donate will be greatly appreciated. If nothing else join us on Friday, March 13, 2009 to cheer the The Woodsmen on as we get our locks chopped for the children battling cancer. This year we are honoring Joey. Joey is the son of a friend who fought the good fight but recently passed. I have been growing my hair for a few months now, so there is alot of hair to be cut. SEE my attached before PHOTO, let me know what you think. Remember, you have the option of donating in the name of your favorite Woodsmen or all of The Woodsmen. The easiest way to donate is to go to the St. Baldricks website (www.stbaldricks.org) and click on sponsor a participant. Next type in 'The Woodsmen' on the team name. Then follow the instructions. We look forward to seeing you on the 13th and again we greatly appreciate whatever you can afford to give in the name of children fighting for their lives. Thank you for being a hero for kids with cancer! -Daniel www.stbaldricks.org Shavee ID: S-341164 (2009) Team Name: The Woodsmen Venue Name: Hanging Gardens Event Date: 03/13/2009 Location: River Grove, IL, US Fundraising Goal: $1,000.00

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
