I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Cicero-North Syracuse Teachers

Thanks for stopping by my site. I want to thank everyone who contributed for helping me exceed my goal of $300. Due to the generousity of family and friends, I was able to raise a very respectable amount of money in a short time. I also would like to encourage anyone who would still like to donate but hasn't yet to please do so. When I was at Kitty Hoyne's in Syracuse today, they announced the then-current Syracuse total as being somewhere in the $260,000 range. Sorry I didn't get an exact figure, as it was crowded and a little loud, and I was enjoying my Guinness. I also saw some fantastic things. The Corcorran High School (Syracuse City School District) Boys Lacrosse team was there, 12 strong plus the coach, all getting shorn. They raised around $2500, I think. The best part was the goalie, who had a huge curly mop of hair. He had not had his hair cut since LAST YEAR at St. Baldrick's. Talk about going all the way. My school district, North Syracuse CSD, fielded a team of 23 people, under the name of Cicero-North Syracuse Teachers. We had teachers from several schools within the district, and we have raised over $5300 as a team. Several other teachers showed up to lend support as we were shaved down, and I think we have some more recruits for next year. On a personal note, I had the honor of sharing the day with one of my best friends, Dan, who, when I called looking for a donation, decided that this was something he would like to do as well. Dan has been doing fundraising at his workplace, and made the trip down from Oswego for the festivities and free haircut. I hope everyone has a great St. Patrick's Day, and thank you again for stopping by this site and any contributions you have or may yet make. Jim Heffron
