I have an adult son and a 1 year old granddaughter... I'm thankful my son made it to adulthood without having to battle cancer and I hope and pray my granddaughter is likewise as blessed. Very recently, a friend of my niece lost her 7 year old daughter, Elise, to leukemia. She was diagnosed at three, went through a bone marrow transplant and three remissions and relapses before finally losing her battle. I can't even imagine what she endured.. what her parents, her brother, and everyone whose life she touched endured. This Saturday, March 7th, 2009, at the Hibernian Irish Pub in Cary NC, I'll have my head shaved in solidarity with the children who have faced, are facing, and will face this dreaded disease. I ask that you consider making a tax-deductible contribution to the St. Baldick's Foundation, the world's largest volunteer-driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research... and remember, every contribution, every dollar, can make a difference. I thank you in advance for your consideration :-D. Regards, MJ
