I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Graas

If this is your first visit to my page, I am asking for your help. I am shaving my hair for this year's St Baldrick's event to help raise money for cancer! This is where I am asking for your help, asking for you to donate in my name. A dollar, five dollars, whatever you can part with will help! And if you want to come watch them shave my head, come to the the St Albert Gym !! For those of you that have already donated in my name, I would like to THANK everyone for their generous donations! I am so close to my goal of $400.00 which would not have been possible without you. It may not sound like much, but that contribution can go a surprisingly long way in finding a treatment or maybe even a cure for cancer. If you would like to attend the event at my school, It is at St. Albert the Great School in the gym on MONDAY (ST PATRICK"S DAY), March 17 from 8-10 a.m. This year, there will be representatives from the foundation filming, newspaper, radio and TV coverage. Please pray for us to pull together as much as we can to contribute to this most worthy cause! Thanks for helping :-) Jared A note from MOM... I just returned from the event. I never imagined this event to be so emotional. There were cancer survivors that spoke there, parents of victims that didn't survive, a beautiful performance by 2 teenage friends who sang a song they wrote for their frined that died 2 years ago and the TOP tear-jerker (for me) was watching 2 girls (5th & 7th graders) have their heads shaved. What bravery...at their age, their hair is their feminine IDENTITY!! The older girl was trembling in tears while her head was shaved and the younger held off until it was all over and broke down in an embrace with her parents. They accumulated dontations in the THOUSANDS! The thought running through my head was that these girls did this by choice, imagine a girl their age dealing with hair loss, being a small drop in the bucket compared to the Cancer itself. WOW, I am an emotional wreck! I will post Jared's after picture later tonight or in the morning. Thank you all again for your generous donations! Cindy
