I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Base

Dear Friends & Family, This year I am helping my good friend Keith Boudart to organize his 3rd annual fundraising event with the St.Baldrick's Foundation. It will be my 2nd year participating as a 'shavee'. This year we are honoring Paige Stibgen, a childhood cancer patient from Elgin who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). After a difficult struggle for their entire family in which she showed the utmost courage, strength and admiration, the cancer did ultimately take Paige at age 11. She received her angel wings last year on November 7th, 2007. Worldwide, 160,000 kids are diagnosed with cancer each year and despite tremendous progress, cancer remains the #1 disease killer of children in the U.S. and Canada. A frightening fact that Paige's mom, Joanna shared with me is that this amounts to roughly a child's life is lost to cancer every 4 minutes! While battling cancer, children lose not only their hair but years of their childhood, if not their lives. I hope that you will consider donating on behalf of Paige Stibgen and all the struggling kids. Getting your head shaved in solidarity is such a small sacrifice - and the funds raised will make a difference for children with cancer now and in the future. Look around the St. Baldrick's website to see the good they are doing. Please help me reach my goal of $2,000 by March 8th. No amount is too small, and of course all are tax deductable. Every gift is greatly appreciated, as well as your support in spreading the word. The event is at 1:00pm on March 8th at The Club House Restaurant in S. Elgin, located next to The Manor Restaurant. I hope you will join us. Please make a DONATION for the kids in my name or in the name of TEAM BASE. Thank you & Kindest Regards for your support, Wes Bellamy
