I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Las Cruces Professional Firefighters

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Las Cruces Professional Firefighters

The picture I posted is a little over 6 years old. I'm a little older now and a lot hairier. I figure that if I'm going to shave my head, there should at least be some difference between my "Before" and "After" pictures. This picture is important to me because it is the last one I had taken with my sons Kevin (left) and Ryan (right) before Kevin was stricken with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. Kevin put up a good fight and received excellent treatment from a lot of dedicated health professionals but the cancer was tougher than all of our efforts. Kevin passed away on the afternoon of July 19th, 2003 at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, TX. I wish I could say our story is unique but cancer remains as the number one disease killer of children in the United States. By donating to St. Baldrick's, you will be funding research that will improve the treatments and quality of life of a lot of children and might one day find cures for these evil diseases and put an end to the suffering these brave children endure. Visiting our site is proof that you want to make a difference. Thank you for caring and please give generously. Sincerely, Mat and Josie Hall.
