This year I am participating in the St. Baldrick's event which is something much deeper than simply cutting off my hair.
Being a part of the fight against childhood cancer is my way of making belief become action. The kids who are currently dealing with cancer treatment are facing issues that no kid should ever. If I can help raise awareness, support research, and be a voice for those affected by cancer by shaving my head then it is 100% worth it to do so.
I believe small actions produce momentum. It is one decision, one conversation, one contribution that adds up and moves a cause forward.
Whether you are able to contribute (through a donation, sharing information about the event on social media.) it will mean a great deal to me and most importantly it will bring us closer to a day where no child has to battle cancer.
Participating in St. Bladrick's is also very personal for me. I recall wishing I had cut my own hair during the time my mom was undergoing chemotherapy. At the time I did not realize how much that simple act could represent. Now looking back I see that the smallest acts can hold true value – especially when they are done for someone you care for.
Thank you for joining me on this journey.
