I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Bald Terrors

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Bald Terrors

For the past twenty years, courageous groups of students from Palmer High School have formed a team to fundraise for childhood cancer research, shave their heads in solidarity with those with cancer, or donate hair to be made into wigs.

Over this time, these students have raised over $100,000. The annual event is organized through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and this year the shaving is hosted by the Switchbacks and Jack Quinn's on Saturday, March 14th at Weidner Field (around noon). A few Palmer students, Gage Hankins, Oliver Coddington, and Ryan Bennett have created a team called the Bald Terrors and I will join them again in fundraising and shaving. I am extending an invitation for you to participate in any number of ways:

The "Hair-Stays-Put" Fundraiser: You can join the team and help us hit our goal without touching a single strand of hair. Your advocacy is just as powerful!

The Full Shave: Go bald and be a walking billboard for the cause.

The Hair Donation: If you have natural hair and the length, donate your locks to be made into wigs.

The Financial Donor: Make a donation on behalf of an individual or the team.

If you are Ready to join, whether shaving with the team or making a donation, visit our team page: Bald Terrors

If there is someone in your life you would like to dedicate your fundraising or shaving to, please indicate on the team page. We would be privileged to shave in their honor and share their story as part of our mission.

Need some inspiration? Attached are last year's team pictures and KKTV briefly interviewed one of the Bald Terrors (Jaiden Fox).

Did you know, 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive? For those who do, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50.  Each shaved head, every dollar donated, creates a ripple effect of progress for kids with cancer.  Your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

Together, let’s give these kids the lifetime they deserve. Thank you for your support!
