Why have I been shaving my head for over 20 years — and why should you care?
What started as a simple challenge among friends 25 years ago has grown into something far bigger than I ever imagined. Today, it’s part of the largest volunteer movement dedicated to conquering kids’ cancer.
This year, I — Mark Guerra — am once again joining thousands of others to shave my head and raise critical funds for childhood cancer research.
Here’s why it matters:
1 in 5 children diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. will not survive.
Of those who do survive, more than 96% will face severe or life-threatening health issues by age 50 due to the harsh treatments they endured as kids.
That’s not acceptable.
Every shaved head.
Every shared post.
Every dollar donated.
It all creates a ripple effect — fueling lifesaving research and giving families hope when they need it most.
Your support helps fund the best childhood cancer research across the country through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation — the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants.
Together, we can give these kids more than survival.
We can give them the lifetime they deserve.
Thank you for standing with me — and with them.
