I am shaving to raise money for childhood cancer research

Why am I shaving my head, and why should you care?

A challenge among friends 25 years ago has become the largest volunteer movement to Conquer Kids’ Cancer. This year, I’m joining thousands of others to shave my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!

Did you know, 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive? For those who do, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50.

Each shaved head, every dollar donated, creates a ripple effect of progress for kids with cancer.

Your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

Together, let’s give these kids the lifetime they deserve. Thank you for your support!

Family and Friends,

I hope this note finds you all safe and well.

This is our 16th year for the Head Shave.

Will you please help me and donate to St. Baldrick’s Foundation to raise funds for childhood cancer research?

Tillie was only 22 months when first diagnosed with leukemia in 2005.

She fought hard and almost won that battle. However, just after Tillie turned six the cancer returned. The doctors said to prepare for a much tougher fight. Throughout that next year we spent seven months in hospital. That tougher fight required a couple more years of chemo followed by brain radiation. In the end, Tillie survived! She has been off treatment for 14 years. We are thankful to the wonderful team at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. We are grateful for their continued medical care and support. We are equally grateful for your love and support throughout that time.

Graduating this spring!

She’s happy and healthy, Thank G-d.

Fantastic!!!

Busy with classes, sorority, Hillel (leading Seder this year!), and college life.

Details of the exact plans for Head Shave 2026 remain in flux. Mid-to-late March, and location to be determined.

The beard has returned. It’s a good look! Oh, you know it’s a good look!

Thank you for donating to St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

Love,

Larry and Sue, Tillie, and Jared
