Why am I shaving my head, and why should you care?
My story: I am pretty sure the first time I shaved my head with the Shiny Domes (a team from my workplace) was the same year I was diagnosed with cancer. While I am a healthy survivor, it was very meaningful to do this for and with others. While I don't shave every year, I decided to this year because I have exceeded 10 years cancer free. Not are all so fortunate. Please join me in raising money for a meaningful cause. Any amount small or large is appreciated. We are hoping this is the year that the Shiny Domes pass $250,000 in total donations over the last 14 years.
I will be shaving my head on March 7th at Choppers in Cherry Creek, time TBD. I will have more details as the date approaches.
The Mission:
A challenge among friends 25 years ago has become the largest volunteer movement to Conquer Kids' Cancer. This year, I'm joining thousands of others to shave my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!
Did you know, 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won't survive? For those who do, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50.
Each shaved head, trimmed hair, every dollar donated, creates a ripple effect of progress for kids with cancer.
Your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick's Foundation.
Together, let's give these kids the lifetime they deserve. Thank you for your support!
