I am shaving to raise money for childhood cancer research

Welcome to my sponsorship page.  Thank you for taking the time to visit.

I first participated in St. Baldrick's with my school when I was 5 years old.  At the time, I didn't really understand what it was all about, I just knew that kids with cancer couldn't play football with their friends and that was just not acceptable!

Since then, I have come to understand much more about childhood cancers.  Did you know that even if a child survives cancer, the treatment typically leaves them with lifelong health problems?  So many of them STILL can't play football with their friends, even once they are cancer-free.  We need to do better.  We need to find treatments that don't just kill the cancer, but that leave kids healthy enough to enjoy a long happy life.

This year is my 9th year participating in St. Baldrick's.  I don't know anyone who has had a childhood cancer personally.  But I don't have to know someone who has been affected to be passionate about doing everything I can to help those who are fighting for their lives.  Childhood should be about playing, laughing with your friends, learning, and making memories with friends and family, not fighting for your life.

Why am I shaving my head, and why should you care?

A challenge among friends 25 years ago has become the largest volunteer movement to Conquer Kids’ Cancer. This year, I’m joining thousands of others to shave my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!

Did you know, 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive? For those who do, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50.

Each shaved head, every dollar donated, creates a ripple effect of progress for kids with cancer.

Your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

Together, let’s give these kids the lifetime they deserve. Thank you for your support!
