I am helping to raise money for childhood cancer research with: HOSA/Medical Careers Club

Hi!

My name is Daria, and I am a sophomore at Schaumburg High School.

I am supporting and donating to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation because every child deserves a chance to live a healthy, happy life without the worry of cancer.

Childhood cancer is devastating for the child and their loved ones. Being stripped of your joy, dreams, and future and being taken into a period of uncertainty and fear is something no one should ever go through. Children can go from having fun days with their friends, playing with their siblings, getting tucked in from their parents, playing with their favorite toys, watching their favorite movies and shows, to being taken into a lonely, frightening, hospital bed, with the only sound coming from the beep of their medicine.

Every year, over 500,000 children and adolescents get diagnosed with cancer. 1 in 5 of these children won’t survive. Even if they do survive, the complications are great, including chronic health conditions, learning difficulties, and even secondary cancer.

That’s why we need to help these patients. They should be able to live long, amazing lives just as any person!

I believe, with proper research funded from many donations, we can make a difference and ensure that these children can survive and overcome cancer and live long, fulfilling lives without having to worry of cancerous diseases ever again.

Thank you so much for donating!
