I am shaving my head with St. Baldrick’s because your donation “on my head” will actually save lives. This is my 9th year that I will be shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research on March 15, 2026. I’ll be shaving my head with other St. Baldrick’s participants from around the country to #GiveKidsALifetime. Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. Due to the underfunding, they use a lot of adult treatments and even at a higher dosage for they say that the children have stronger bodies. So, I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Kids with cancer need our support now more than ever.
St. Baldrick’s is the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research grants. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancer. My goal this year is to raise $1250.00. In the past 8 years we have raised $9,331.00. Let’s see how much we can pull together to help the children. Thank you all.
Each year has been special to raise money for childhood cancer but in December 2019 it hit home for my granddaughter, Philomena (Mia), now age 12, was diagnosed with cancer, Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS), when she was still 5 years old. She has undergone chemo and radiation treatments and is now in remission for 5.5 years. She is a fighter and is now doing ballet, soccer and getting involved in other things a young girl should. I challenge all my friends and family to donate a dollar or two to help with this cause.
