Why Am I Shaving My Head – And Why Should You Care?

What started as a friendly challenge among friends 25 years ago has grown into the largest volunteer movement to Conquer Kids’ Cancer.  This year, I’m again  proud to join thousands of others across the country – and I’ll be shaving my head to raise critical funds for childhood cancer research.

But I’m not doing it alone. This year, I’m shaving alongside my teammates from the Essex Shillelaghs GAA. Together, we’ve set a goal to raise $3,000 for the cause.

Why It Matters

Did you know that 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive? And for those who do, more than 96% will face severe or life-threatening conditions by age 50 as a result of their treatment. That’s why funding childhood cancer research is so important.

Every shaved head, every donation, creates a ripple effect of hope and progress. Your gift supports the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants in the country.

How You Can Help

By supporting me – and our Essex Shillelaghs GAA team – you’re giving kids and their families something priceless: hope for a lifetime.

Together, we can help these kids not only survive cancer, but thrive in the years beyond it.

Thank you for standing with us, for standing with these kids, and for making a difference.
