Hello friends! Say goodbye to my hair!
For those of you who don't know, I am doing my PhD at Nationwide Children's Hospital and I am studying new therapies for pediatric cancer. 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive and for those who do, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50. Unfortunately, only 4% of the federal research budget goes toward pediatric cancer research.
That's why I'm participating in St. Baldrick's to fundraise for pediatric cancer research! After years of watching my lab mates participate as head shavers, I wanted to give it a go and SHAVE MY HEAD!!
Upon sharing my aspirations with my friends and family, I got a lot of responses along the lines of, "How much money do I have to donate so that you DON'T shave your head??"
So I thought I'd make it a competition and leave it up to y'all!
?Vote on what happens to my hair with your donation!?
~ Even dollar amounts = buzz it all off
~ Odd dollar amounts = cut 10 inches only
Votes with the most $$ will be what happens to my hair! Either way the hair will be donated to make a wig through Children With Hair Loss.
