Why am I shaving my head, and why should you care?
I was first introduced to St. Baldricks around 2014 by a friend Jenny W. who had been diagnosed with oligodendroglioma when she was 25, that eventually turned into Leptomeningeal Disease. She had been fighting it since before I met her, and she survived another decade until passing this past December. Jenny was dedicated to helping others impacted by cancer and was a fierce advocate for brain cancer research.
Her kind heart and insurmountable sense of humor lives on. Before she she passed she was able to start a comedy event to benefit brain cancer research, titled "Laugh Your Brains Out.”
I’m raising funds with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to support research that finds cures and safer treatments for all childhood cancers, providing hope for children and families facing this fight.
Did you know, 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive? For those who do, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50.
Each shaved head, every dollar donated, creates a ripple effect of progress for kids with cancer.
Your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
Together, let’s give these kids the lifetime they deserve. Thank you for your support!
