I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: BODY20 Brookhaven

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: BODY20 Brookhaven

Why am I shaving my head with St. Baldrick’s?

When Jorie was two, we had a scare that turned out to be a false alarm, a pseudo tumor as it was explained to us. It was the scariest time of our lives and we were so lucky.

But while in the hospital, I saw parents who weren't. They were extremely unlucky and I said to myself I wanted to do something to help in hopes that one day no parents would have to go what parents of kids with cancer go through.

#SCOTTSTRONG

I was blessed to be one of Scott's close friends for over 25 years. We met when I I pledged ZBT fraternity at the University Arizona. We traveled together throughout college for several spring breaks, Mardi Gras, Las Vegas, and were roommates for a year.

After I moved to Atlanta in 2002, our friendship grew even stronger. We celebrated many birthdays together including our 40th's, and Scott came to the hospital to film us leaving with our first daughter, Braelyn.

Scott was an inspiration to all who knew him and beginning in 2018, and every year since, I've participated in St. Baldrick's to support this amazing organization in honor of Scott.

Kids with cancer need our support now more than ever. St. Baldrick’s is the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research grants, and the pandemic has slashed donations, slowing down the progress to find cures.

Your donation “on my head” will actually save lives. Cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease. Research can change that and you can make a difference through your support.

I hope you can help? Thank you so much!
