Why am I shaving my head, and why should you care?
How many times can you do something with a grandchild that will always be remembered and save someone’s life at the same time?
It is sad to know that childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So we want to do all we can to raise money for cures. Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Why am I shaving my head, and why should you care?
My grandson Michael and I are now entering our 7th year in this journey to "Help sick kids". We started when he was 4 year old, when his mom convinced him to shave his head. He continues the fight, and continues to raise money for pediatric cancer research. What makes this journey special is that we get to do it together.
As Michael has gotten older, he understands more and more what it means for him to participate in this event. He knows that there are kids out there, without hair, who are sick. He knows that if he has his head shaved, money will be raised to help those kids. Over the past several years, our family and friends helped him raise over $2000 dollars and we couldn't be more grateful. Thankfully, he hasn't met anyone who has endured this horrific disease, but that doesn't matter, he still wants to help all those children he doesn't know.
Each shaved head, every dollar donated, creates a ripple effect of progress for kids with cancer. Your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
Together, let’s give these kids the life they deserve. Thank you again for your support!
